The Largest book mosaic (pattern) is 163.93 square metres (1764.52 sq. ft) and was achieved by Pune Book Festival and Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-Op Society Ltd. (both India), in Pune, Maharashtra, India, on 13 December 2024.
The mosaic pattern was based on The Saraswati Yantra which is a sacred symbol that represents the creative and enlightening energy. The surrounding triangles and lotus petals signify various aspects of wisdom, knowledge, and artistic expression. It was made entirely of 4,189 books with no gaps in placing next to each other. 5 different shades (gold, black, red, blue and white) had to be used with no one colour more than 25% of the whole mosaic.
